For starters, one of the biggest questions is where to find traffic. Of course, in the beginning, spending a lot of money on solo ads or pay per click ads wasn’t always an option, especially if you choose the wrong provider or don’t make the right choice, you can save a lot of money and get very little in return which causes frustration and calls the whole thing a scam. If you can use cheap or free traffic to get some rewards, it will be much easier to maintain your morale and the odds of success.
So, what are the free traffic sources out there?
Let’s start with article marketing.
Article marketing is not for everyone. Good English writing skills and an appetite for writing are very important. This is also not something for the short term. You have to be patient in discovering articles, and one of the best ways to find out is to write a large number of articles, preferably on the same or similar topics. Links captured by potential customers are best placed in the resource box at the bottom of the article, and keep in mind that some article repositories are choosy about the type of link you use. On the plus side, as long as the repository remains active your link will always exist or at least exist.
This is a viable idea, but it requires a little bit of confidence. You will find someone similar to your listing and post your link on their download page in exchange for having their link on your link. The downside is that it requires a certain amount of traffic. If no one visits their site, no one will see your site. The matter of trust is that once they turn around, they won’t delete your link (or you won’t delete their link) and they both send the same amount of traffic to each other.
This is the same as article marketing, depending on certain skills. Conducting careful research on viable topics to find popular topics, and then creating videos (talking heads, cartoons, presentations) in any way is the biggest necessary task here, and compared to making videos (or articles), this research may take more time.
Anything advertising-related takes time and / or money. If you can do both, you can ensure success. If you don’t have a lot of money, you will have to invest a lot of time. This is perhaps the biggest failure for budding marketers, forgetting that online marketing, like any other business, requires research and it always takes time to get it right.
Observers will note that I didn’t mention search engine optimization (SEO) as a free traffic method. This is because while some of them are under your control, many are out of your control and depend on search engines that like what you do (at least this week). If they change their mind, it could waste your work.
